PFI is the term used for private sector funding and management of government facilities, usually over a period of 25 or more years.

Widnell together with strategic business partner Currie & Brown have been promoting the concept of PFI in China where there is a high demand for new government facilities but limited availability of public sector funds.

The joint venture company, Currie & Brown Widnell (CBW), is able to capitalise on the relative strengths of the two organisations in this area – Widnell’s presence in the major cities in China and Currie & Brown’s position as the UK’s leading PFI Technical Adviser.

In March and September 2005, CBW held private seminars for interested parties in major cities in China to explain the mechanisms of PFI and are currently engaged on preliminary studies for PFI projects.
