In order to service an expanding workload Widnell are in the process of increasing their staff numbers by recruiting over twenty Graduate and Trainee QS’s. The recruitment drive will take place during the first
half of 2007.
Widnell Managing Director Kim Berry said “Every year we hire graduates and trainee staff who proceed to gain valuable working experience from the moment they step through the door. This year we are combining the annual intake with our intention of expanding our overall staffing and so consequently we are recruiting in greater numbers.”
Widnell graduates and trainees enter the company’s training scheme which provides directly relevant instruction in measurement, contract administration and other areas. “We also require our graduate staff to maintain records of the type of work they are assigned to in the office. This helps us and them to monitor what they are doing and gives us the opportunity to provide them with a sensible balance of experience over their initial two year working period”
Widnell also provide a reimbursement scheme to junior staff undertaking approved part-time study to further their qualifications and ability.
